Ecological responsibility

First Sensor sees itself as part of a world community and assumes responsibility in line with this — for our environment.

First Sensor has consequently adopted the German Sustainability Code as a voluntary instrument, with the aim of extending the concept of sustainability and promoting long-term growth.

The environmental aspect is therefore a primary subject area for us. First Sensor is aware of the consequences of its resource management on the environment. It is therefore one of the fundamental goals in our corporate strategy to embrace lower consumption and environmental compatibility. As a company aware of its responsibilities, we involve our suppliers and customers in the discussion surrounding sustainability. Supplier and customer audits enable us to actively implement sustainability in the entire value chain with the help of effective resource management.

As part of our resource management, the energy consumption per production unit will be recorded, assigned improvement values and monitored over the course of time in the future. Paper consumption throughout the company has already been reduced to the absolute essentials, and from next year onwards electronic data archiving is set to reduce paper consumption yet further. In addition to this, consumption will be recorded with precise cost center data, thereby raising awareness. With its company-wide car policy, First Sensor also offers employees who are entitled to a company car a financial compensation if they forgo the vehicle. In this way, we are making a contribution towards a more environmentally friendly approach to individual mobility.
