2017-09-19 The initiative OpTecBB organizes a fact-finding visit to the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) in Dresden. In this context, an exchange with the cyber-physical systems working group of hightech-network Silicon Saxony is scheduled. During the meeting, Peter Krause presents trends in sensor technology. 2017-08-09 Ramona Pop (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), Berlin’s Senator for Economics, visits First Sensor during her summer tour at the headquarters in Berlin-Oberschöneweide. 2017-06-07 First Sensor Mobility GmbH is hosting the roadshow "Trends In Automotive Supply Industry 2017" in Dresden for invited guests. The Saxon Automotive Supplier Network AMZ and the Chemnitz Automotive Institute CATI present the results of a study about the automotive agenda of the future and the automotive supply industry in Saxony, commissioned by the Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs. Furthermore, Dr. Lorenzo Matassini gives a keynote speech about new ideas for an intelligent mobility and presents sensor solutions for the automotive industry.

2017-05-11 Thomas Ruf presents "Photonic Sensors For Medical Applications" at the "Sensors Europe 2017 - Commercialisation of Disruptive Sensor Technology" conference. Sensors Europe is part of the IDTechEx Show in Berlin which combines different events with focus on technology topics. 2017-04-25 In the Industrial Automation Forum (Hall 14, Stand L19) of this year’s industrial exhibition Hannover Messe, Thomas Ruf informs about "Sensor Technology: The Key To A Smart Production".
2017-04-04 – 2017-04-05 In Jena, First Sensor Lewicki GmbH participates in the DLR component conference. A key objective of this conference is the discussion and identification of the future national requirements for components and component types suitable for space travel. 2017-03-23 As part of the IMAPS spring seminar 2017, Lutz Mattheier (First Sensor Microelectronic Packaging GmbH) presents the lecture "Customer-specific sensors and their assembly & packaging". The International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS) is an association dedicated to microelectronics. This year's spring conference was held under the motto "Package: The key to the optimal sensor!?!".
2017-02-24 Technology Day at the Fraunhofer Institute IZM, which focuses on packaging technology and the integration of multifunctional electronics into systems. Peter Krause gives a lecture on sensors for the Internet of Things for the guests from politics, business and science. 2016-11-23 – 2016-11-24 Closing forum of the SMART DIAMONDS network project that deals with using synthetic diamond coatings in sensor technology. The project brings together experts for high temperatures and rough ambient media. 2016-10-11 At micro photonics 2016 in Berlin, Dr. Lorenzo Matassini (First Sensor Mobility GmbH) will be speaking about "Area View 360° with Free Flight" at the "System Integration with MOEMS" microsystem technology conference. 2016-10-05 At the Berlin industry conference of the German Physical Society (DPG), Peter Krause and Andreas Niendorf will be speaking about thermal flow sensors, which measure volumetric and mass flows in many industrial processes and lay the groundwork for regulation of those flows. 2016-02-29 First Sensor is hosting the event "Distance measurement using the Time of Flight Method" as part of a lecture series organized by OpTecBB in cooperation with Microsystems Technology as a field of the Photonics cluster and Berlin Partner. The Time of Flight (TOF) method is used in optical metrology for distance measurement in many industrial and automotive applications. Thomas Brosowski is to give the first presentation on the use of ToF for long-distance applications, also providing background information on the detectors used. The second presentation by Hinrik Weber, Head of Optics at Pepperl + Fuchs, will focus on products for ToF applications in the industrial sector.
