Exciting introduction to the profession

What is a clean room exactly and what do the daily tasks of a micro-technologist include? Ten schoolgirls from grades six to nine made the most of the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of First Sensor Microelectronic Packaging GmbH at the Girls' Day event on March 28, 2018, in Dresden.

Production manager Christian Böhme and sales manager Jens Krauße welcomed the Girls’ Day participants. Luisa Ruttka, a specialist in career-related questions, answered questions regarding training at First Sensor. Jette Müller gave a real insight when talking about her training as a micro-technologist. It then got practical: The schoolgirls got changed, because people working in our clean room facilities have to adhere to strict rules such as wearing special clothing.

When we were sure that no more hairs were peeking out and that they could still breathe through the mouthguards, the schoolgirls were eventually allowed to enter the clean room and view the production up close. Under the supervision of Christian Böhme and Thoralf Meiburg, they tried out some of the typical procedures and thus gained a good impression of the micro-technologist profession.

Naturally, boys can also complete their training and join micro-technologists at First Sensor after successfully completing their studies. In addition to this training, First Sensor offers five other traineeships: Industrial business manager, specialized technician for system integration, mechatronics technician and specialist in warehousing logistics.

In his interview here Asaph Kopczynski tells us why he decided to do a traineeship at First Sensor and what particular things pupils need to bear in mind.
