Significant contract extension with major customer - Sales of up to 50 million euros

Microelectronic Packaging Dresden GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silicon Sensor International AG (Silicon Sensor), today signed a nomination letter with a well-known automobile supplier. The aim of the agreement is to significantly expand the successful cooperation that began back in 2008.

The subject matter of the contract is the production of a sensor module for steering angle detection. Over the next three years, the annual number of units to be delivered is to be more than doubled and, at the same time, the contract term extended ahead of time by four years until 2016.

At the present time, the Board of Directors expects that the contract for the term until 2016 will comprise a sales volume of up to 50 million euros.

The notification letter signed today strengthens the Silicon Sensor's growth forecast of achieving sales totaling at least 100 million euros by 2015. Furthermore, it is confirmation of the strategic direction of offering customers complete added value when it comes to sensor solutions – from single sensor components through to complete sensor systems. Together with Silicon Sensor's innovative strength and high quality demands, this is to form the basis for the acquisition of further major orders.
